About the Item
A pair of Mid-Century ruby and diamond trefoil cluster clip-on earrings in platinum, Portugal, 1950s/1960s. Each earring is designed as stylized trefoil with a round brilliant-cut diamond claw-set to the center, the three petals embellished with a circular-shape ruby encircled by a row of similarly-set round brilliant-cut diamonds. These earrings are secured to reverse with a collapsible post and omega clip fittings, making them perfect for both pierced and non-pierced ears.
Rubies: approximately 3.2 carats in total. Diamonds: approximately 0.45 carats in total, F-H color, VS-SI clarity.
Lisbon hallmark “horse head” (used 1938-1984) for minimum 800/1000 (19.2kt) gold and minimum 500 platinum; Lisbon hallmark “rooster head” (used 1938-1984) for jewelry; maker’s mark “C” for a Portuguese jeweler from the same period. Dimensions: 2.0 x 2.1 cm. Gross weight: 15.58g.
