About the Item
These rare Monique Vedié Talosel or resin clip-on earrings feature a stylized dimensional flower shape in pearlized purple and green. Like all vintage Vedié pieces, there is no visible maker's signature.
Measurements: 1.38 in wide (3.4 cm) by 1.88 in high (4.7 cm).
Monique Vedié was born in the 1920s and studied at the Line Vautrin School in Paris, where she learned the Talosel process. Vedié founded her company to design cellulose acetate jewelry in vibrant hues, featuring fruits, flowers, and a few characters. Initially, the look of her pieces was very similar to Vautrin's work. All the pieces were hand-made. None of Vedié's works is signed, but the style is distinct and easily identifiable. Before retiring in 1992, she worked with many prestigious Parisian fashion houses like Lanvin, Dior, and Ungaro. The signature style established by Vedié continues under the CILEA brand with the current designer, Stephane Ravel. Cilea Paris now primarily works for the French designer Françoise Montague.
