About the Item
These stunning Monique Vedie (1924-2021) Resin or Talosel clip-on earrings feature a stylized geometric flower shape with a carved, dimensional design, complemented by a beautiful light almond green color and silver mirror inserts. The pieces have French clip fastenings. There is no visible signature, like all the Monique Vedie vintage pieces.
Measurements: 1.38 in diameter (3.5 cm)
Note: Monique Vedie was born in 1924. She attended the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués in Paris and then collaborated with Victor Linton before eventually opening her own Atelier. She attended the Line Vautrin School in Paris, where she learned the Talosel process. Vedie founded her company by designing cellulose acetate jewelry in vibrant hues, including fruits, flowers, and a few characters. Initially, the style of her pieces was very similar to Vautrin's work. All the pieces were hand-made. None of Vedie's works is signed, but the style is distinct and easily identifiable. Her pieces of jewelry in talosel are often characterized by a touch of humour, and typically inspired by fauna and flora. Before retiring in 1992, she worked with several prestigious Parisian fashion houses, including Lanvin, Dior, and Ungaro. The signature style established by Vedié is continued under the CILEA brand by the present designer, Stephane Ravel. Cilea Paris now primarily works for the French designer Françoise Montague.
