About the Item
These stunning French Jewelry Designer Monique Vedié Paris clip-on earrings boast a dimensional shape with a carved door knocker design in raspberry purple resin or Talosel with an iridescent overtone. Monique Vedié's vintage resin jewelry is always unsigned.
The earrings are in good condition, with minor oxidation on the fastenings.
Measurements: 1.32 in width (3.3 cm) x 1.57 in height (4 cm).
Monique Vedié was born in the 1920s and has been a student at the Line Vautrin School in Paris, where she learned her Talosel process. Vedié founded her company by designing cellulose acetate jewelry in vibrant hues, including fruits, flowers, and a few characters. In the beginning, the look of her pieces was very similar to Vautrin's work. All the pieces were hand-made. None of Vedié's works are signed, but the style is distinct and easily identifiable. Before retiring in 1992, she worked with many prestigious Parisian fashion houses like Lanvin, Dior, and Ungaro. The signature style established by Vedié is continued under the CILEA brand by present designer Stephane Ravel. Cilea Paris now primarily works for the French designer Françoise Montague.
