Co.
This is a beautiful three-dimensional pair of earrings with two oversized x crossover. These earrings were crafted back in the 1976 at the Tiffany
Co. by Donald Claflin in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. They are fitted at the reverse with gold posts for pierced ears and comfortable omega backs for fastening clips.
Weight: 24.5 grams, (15.75 Dwt.).
Measurements: 28 mm BY 16 mm (1.10 x 0.63 inch).
Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay and warranty of the gold and signed in full as follow, "TIFFANY
CO .750 18 KT".
Donald Claflin
He was an American jewelry designer most associated with the colorful and whimsical designs he created for tiffany
co. during the sixties and seventies. His start in jewelry came when he joined the firm of David Webb, known for their buoyantly enameled figurative jewels that were a fresh contrast to the formality of the fifties. In 1965 Claflin was hired by tiffany
co. to continue in the innovative and individualistic design approach that designer Jean Schlumberger had so successfully established at the firm.
