Antique 19th century Etruscan Revival 14K yellow gold earrings with fine granulation and twisted gold wirework decoration techniques
Large, substantial gold hanging earrings each composed of three sections allowing for lovely movement. Rarely seen excellent original condition. Fine, complex details of granulation, twisted wirework, smooth wirework and applied diamond shaped lozenge techniques. These earrings were created for a discerning client appreciative of high quality, beautiful workmanship and superb design. The attractive circular motifs are a nod to the sun symbol and the bright yellow gold adds to the eye catching, joyful feel of these wonderful earrings. Solid gold construction is rarely seen in Etruscan Revival earrings- most are hollow and lightweight. The present pair is solid gold, hangs beautifully and is a pleasure to wear, complete with desirable, high quality French hook latch design backs.
