About the Item
These exquisite earrings were created from antique Shibayama game pieces (circa 1880), a Japanese decorative art form celebrated for its intricate inlay and refined naturalistic motifs. Our jeweler carefully cut the originals into elegant oval forms, mounted them in 14k gold, and completed the design with luminous demantoid garnet surmounts and 14k gold ear wires. The vivid green sparkle of the garnets pairs beautifully with the delicate artistry of the Shibayama work.
Each earring measures 1.1 inches from the top of the ear wire to the base by 0.3 inches across. The gold content has been verified through XRF (x-ray fluorescence) analysis and traditional jeweler’s acid testing, confirming purity and integrity.
In excellent condition, these one-of-a-kind earrings unite the craftsmanship of 19th-century Japan with a contemporary setting, offering both historical resonance and modern elegance.
