About the Item
These earrings feature antique, mother-of-pearl Chinese gambling counters with motifs dating back to the 18th Century. They are original pieces that we have made in to jewelry. Originally carved in China for export to Britain, they were used like we would use a poker chip. Different sizes and shapes were made to represent different denominations.
Each gaming counter is set in a handmade 18k yellow gold and blackened silver mounting inspired by the architecture of Ancient China. A real conversation piece when worn! Please refer to the history of the gaming counter shown alongside our additional photographs of these earrings. Handmade by our jewelers in Los Angeles.
