About the Item

Set of matching European Dangles / Earrings and a matching Ring in solid 18K dating to ca.1930s - 1950s showing small hand - carved shell cameos with portraits of three different Girls. Both show fragmented hallmarks,18K. Earrings : 21mm long with bezels measuring : 10.5x 8.5mm. Cameos *: 7.5 x 5.5mm each. weight :0.94gr Ring : crown 13mm x 11mm ,cameo 10mm x 7 mm. Minor deformation of the crown's edge.Not noticeable on hand. Size : Ø6US. Can be sized . Earrings weight : 0.94 grams pair + Ring's 1.4gr = 2.34 grams total. Great Trio, well crafted! Nice mini - portrait carvings, classic looks from all sides. Crowns have wide bezels on frontal side and back sides show 4 bumps hammered on each bezel around perimeter to physically secure positioning of Cameos. A thin layer of some now hard adhesive was also applied on the back sides : on the seams between Gold and Shell for best possible protection. Shell is like Pearls - so sensitive to pressure by nature, and can be tricky to set... And jewelers would often use some special techniques while handling Cameo settings :) Most of the items that we sell are not new at all if not stated otherwise. Stones with closed backs may seem darker than stones with open backs. Such nuances of color perception do not give any excuse to claim item to be not as described.
