These gilt metal dangle earrings were executed between 1850 and 1860 and were quite modernist in design in their days, uniting fashionable elements like tassels, articulated beading as well as naturalistic elements such as leaves stars and flowers. The chased surface of the oval drops, the tops with the leaves and the tassel are in contrast with the polished surfaces of the applied flowers and stars cut out of metal with a rose gold gilding.
