About the Item
These gorgeous new earrings by Eytan Brandes were specifically crafted for drop-shaped pearls, elongating a naturalistic pearl cap to the point where the effect is a little more surreal than organic.
The pearls are gorgeous, silvery-blue Tahitians, not huge (about 11mm each) and not round. We picked them for their shape and their metallic luster, but one is a little steelier and one is a little icier (though the color difference only shows up in extreme lighting situations). Of course they're undyed: those incredible rich colors are straight from the oysters. Thanks, oysters!
The twisty caps, cast from a wax mold hand-carved by Eytan, are solid but not too heavy, hinged to hand-pulled wire hooks, all in rich, unmistakable 18 karat yellow gold.
The total length is 57mm (2-1/4").
The pearl weight is 1.12 (4.2 grams), and the total earring weight is 14.4 grams.
