About the Item

Absolutely jaw-dropping jade earrings from the Edwardian (ca 1910) era! Each post-back earring begins with a an old mine cut diamond at the surmount with a single cut diamond just beneath, which are bead set and bezel set, respectively, within 18k gold and platinum topped milgrained settings. Dangling from the diamond surmounts are minty green jade teardrops with foliate-style gold and platinum topped caps. Swinging from the jade teardrops are two more bezel-set single cut diamonds situated above jade d-rings that are fitted with platinum-topped gold accents etched with scrolling motifs and fit with a long and slender rectangular cut piece of onyx. Situated just beneath the long onyx bars are five more single cut diamonds in a row, all bead set within their milgrained bezels. Each diamond plays host to dangling pieces containing more onyx stones that graduate in length towards the center, fit with a petite and luscious white pearl at their bases. One of the earrings is marked "750" for gold purity content on its backside. These stunning earrings are in beautiful condition and would make a wonderful addition to any collection! Measurements: Each earring hangs approximately 2" long and measures approximately 1/2" at its widest point. Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the jade or to the gold. Two of the onyx stones show evidence of replacement in sections, however this does not effect the integrity of the design and cannot be seen when worn. All of the stones and pearls are securely set.
