About the Item
These romantic H. Stern earrings feature a cascading line of six rock crystals prong set in 18k gold. The cuts of the stones vary in shape and size, ranging from square to rectangular shapes, all cushion cut, alluding to the softer edges of antique cut stones. The stones graduate in size, with the biggest stones in the center and smaller stones at the top and bottom—the largest stones prong set with six talon prongs, the smaller stones prong set with four. The stones dangle from each other and are connected by links with a tiny 1 mm diamond in between each rock crystal. Each diamond is held in place by three tiny prongs, allowing for lots of movement within the earrings. At the bottom is a Victorian-inspired star with beadwork, blackened gold, and a 1.5 mm diamond. Part of the H. Stern Moonlight collection, the luminous crystals and Victorian star capture the romance and mystery of the night sky.
H. Stern is a Brazilian jewelry house headquartered in Rio de Janeiro. It was founded in 1945 and has over 150 stores across the world. It is known for organic shapes, elegant lines, and fluid designs. Roberto Stern explains the H. Stern philosophy as “Playing with time is the soul of the jeweler. We search the past for inspiration, but the interpretation must be current…We are breaking barriers, pursuing what is new, but never forgetting our roots.”
The earrings are 3 1/8” long from top to bottom and 1/2” at the widest point. The largest rock crystal measures 11 x 9 mm and the smallest measures 7 x 6 mm. Combined, the earrings weigh 15.7 grams.
The earrings come with very large earring backs to secure the earrings in place and prevent them from pulling on the ear lobes. As a tiny added detail, the earring back has a little star at its center that we love. Each back is 1/2” wide.
The earrings are marked as H. Stern and 750, along with its symbol of a star. All three marks can be found on the back of the Victorian stars. The earring backs are also marked as 750.
