About the Item
Lina Baretti unusual knitted gold metallic cord drop earclips. The knitted gold cord made to imitate pierced metal filigrees. Composed of a round gold hand knit cabochon, suspending a large gold hand knitted round drop.
Lina Baretti created ingenious and sculptural jewelery from relatively plain materials. Baretti used feathers, cork, glass beads, ribbon and metal , that once twisted and molded together by her magic became some of the most sought after couture pieces for Schiaparelli, Balenciaga ,and Chanelfrom the 1930 s through to the 1970 s. Baretti's designs were snapped up by Parisian high society and the fashion elite .
