About the Item
Two opals -- one a lively precious white opal, and the other a stormy dark blue boulder opal -- both broken. What to do? Spotting the fact they're the same approximate width, Eytan made bezels for the fragments, separating precious from boulder with tiny platinum strips of diamond pavé cut from an old engagement ring.
Absolutely one-of-a-kind, in 18 karat gold with brushed satin tops and post closures.

NOTE: One of the boulder opals has a hairline crack (barely visible in the earring on the left in the main photo and slightly more visible in the "hand" photo). This crack occurred during setting, though we didn't notice it until we were taking photos (which is why we named these earrings "Heartbreak"). The crack is not noticeable and the opal isn't going anywhere -- it's firmly set in its bezel -- and it's obviously not feasible to replace the opal for such a specifically shaped oddball bezel. We recognize and acknowledge the damage, however, and have priced these earrings accordingly. Basically, we're selling to break even because we can't bear the idea of tearing these apart!

- Condition:Repaired: One of the border opals has a hairline crack. The opal is firmly set in its bezel so the crack, while deeply unfortunate, does not affect wearability. Furthermore, the crack is undetectable other than at very close range.
