Pair of dangle earrings designed by Roberto Legnazzi.
This is a fabulous pair of dangles drop earrings, created in Italy at the jewelry atelier of Roberto Legnazzi, back in the 1970. The earrings have been crafted as a left and right pair, with retro modernist patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polish finish. They are embellished with two colorful carvings of red coral and two carvings of black onyxes. The earrings are a superb statement and are fitted at the reverse with concealed gold posts for pierced ears and comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips.
Coral: Mounted in bezel settings, with 2 carvings of natural vivid red Coral.
Onyx: Mounted in bezel settings, with 2 carvings of natural black onyx.
Weight: Combined of 35.75 grams, (22.95 Dwt.).
Measures: 47 mm by 24 mm by 6 mm (1.85 x 0.95 x 0.24 inches) .
Hallmarks: They are both stamped with Italian control marks, the maker's mark associated to the atelier of Roberto Legnazzi, the mark for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold and signed as follow, ".750 *AL1925 ".
Roberto Legnazzi
The atelier of Roberto Legnazzi was one of the master enamellers for the David Webb Company back in the 1970's. This exact model was also produced by Webb, back in the 1980. The pieces of Legnazzi are a bright example of the Italian jewelry tradition. The jewels and the history of the company makes this fact obvious. Rare sculptural pieces from the Memphis period, created in the 1980's by the Italian master jeweler, artist and sculptor, Giorgio Facchini. These convertible long earrings, are made as an unique edition of one (1/1 ), with a modernist look. They was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and suited with omega backs for fastening clips. The posts option for pierced ears can be easily added.
These gorgeous pieces were conceived as a convertible day and night pair, the baluster totem shaped drop elements are detachable.
Embellished, with carvings of natural gemstones, such; black jade, blue lapis lazuli and translucent white Agathe.
They have a combined weight of 55.4 grams, just the upper part pieces have 16.9 grams. The total drop measures is 108 mm (4.25 inches) and 17 mm (0.67 Inch) at the widest part.
Engraved, with the signature, "G. Facchini" and stamped with the Italian assay control hallmarks from the city of Pesaro, "G. Facchini .750 *28PS".
