About the Item
Eytan's inspiration for these earrings was a Polish movie poster for "West Side Story" that he saw on-line. The figures of Tony and Maria were shown as Giacometti-like silhouettes, each inside a box, unable to get to each other, against a dark and shadowy "urban" backdrop.
Eytan liked the graphic symbolism, but now instead of gang rivalries and prejudice getting in the way of True Love, our star-crossed pair is separated by, well, your head!!
We believe in true love here at Eytan's, so when these earrings come off at the end of the day, we're pretty sure there will be some he-in' and she-in' going on in the ol' jewelry box.
In rich 18 karat yellow gold with long shepherd's hook wires. The boxes measure 10mm x 8mm x 3mm, and the total length of each earring is 40mm (1.6"). For comparison purposes, note that our creepy disembodied ear mannequin is life-sized.
