About the Item
A one-of-a-kind set of Victorian (ca1880s) jewelry! This very unique set includes a pendant, a pair of dangling earrings, and two buttons. The pendant and earrings are crafted in 18kt yellow gold; the pendant is comprised of an enameled bail and setting holding a pearl above a spheroid-shaped lapis lazuli stone. The stone is held by a gold frame on its backside, and the enameling matches the natural stone perfectly! The earrings begin with 18kt yellow gold wires atop a spherical lapis lazuli stone. A pearl bead hangs below, along with a slightly larger lapis lazuli orb. The buttons are slightly smaller than the pendant and are set on gold-plated frames that slide into a buttonhole. All of the stones have a rich, ultramarine blue hue with lapis lazuli's classic gold flecks and natural webbing. The set is accompanied by a fitted box, marked for its creator "L. Fontana

The pendant hangs an overall 1 7/8" long. The pendant's stone measures approximately 1 1/8" in diameter and is nearly 5/8" deep including its gold backing. The earrings hang about 1 7/8" in length and the bottom sphere measures 5/8" in diameter. The buttons are approximately 7/8" in diameter, less than 9/16" deep excluding the frame, and an overall 11/16" deep including the frame.
