About the Item
These sterling silver earrings by Wiwen Nilsson, made in 1952, are a classic example of his refined modernist language. Each earring is built around a clear geometric contrast: a slender vertical bar sits against the ear, from which a polished circular hoop is suspended. The proportions are carefully balanced, with the ring free-hanging yet visually anchored by the straight element above. The silver is smoothly finished, with crisp edges that catch the light without ornament. Fitted with screw-back fastenings, they sit securely and comfortably. Nevertheless, they can also be easily converted into studs if desired.
Elegant, architectural, and quietly confident, these earrings feel timeless rather than decorative—designed to frame the face with clarity and restraint.
