About the Item
These antique earrings are light and delicate yet have presence and size when worn. The earrings are made of 18k gold and have exquisite cannetille work from about 1820. Cannetille work was a favored style in the 1820s and 1830s where wirework and thin sheets of metals were fashioned into scrolls, tendrils or coil shapes. These earrings are a wonderful example of this style of work and era. They ear pendant remove, so just an on the ear gold oval can be worn. The total length of the earring is 2 1/4 inch long and the top part itself is 3/4 inch long. It appears that one side of the earring might have been lightly cleaned, but in the daylight the difference is barely noticeable.
