Late 19th / Early 20th Century, Victorian Era.
A delicate and elegant pair of antique earrings, crafted in silver and 18K gold. Each earring features a vibrant turquoise drop (approx. 10 x 17 mm) suspended under rose-cut diamonds set in silver over gold, characteristic of the late Victorian aesthetic. The total height of the earrings is approximately 45 mm, with a combined weight of 9 grams. Presented in a gorgeous fitted period case.
Turquoise is one of the oldest known gemstones, treasured for thousands of years for its vivid blue to green hues. Its name comes from the French "pierre turquoise", meaning "Turkish stone," as it was introduced to Europe through trade routes that passed through Turkey.
