The fluid elegance of these Contemporary Citrine Diamond Pavé Drop Earrings, made in the 21st century, brings to mind the ornamental style that flourished between about 1890 and 1910 throughout Europe and the United States, characterized by its use of a long, sinuous, organic lines and expressive curvilinear forms. Art Nouveau, in architecture, interior design, illustration, and jewelry design, developed a graceful formal vocabulary to celebrate the natural world, both flora and fauna. These floral earrings, with inverted blooms each accented by a single sculptural asymmetric leaf, embody the essence of a pair of swans posing in a mirror image, their long necks and graceful ballerina-like posture highlighted with wings outstretched.
The earrings are crafted in 18K yellow gold and feature a pair of faceted pear-shaped yellow citrines suspended from long articulated drops set with round brilliant-cut pavé diamonds. The earrings are designed for pierced ears, outfitted with posts that seamlessly lock into hinged hoops, and adorned partway around with diamonds. The exquisite moment of the pair is the way in which the sparkling, diamond-embellished leaves overlay the citrine blooms. Imagine the delicate sparkle with every turn of your head from each articulated section. The earrings have marks for gold and weigh an estimated 9.90 grams.
