About the Item
This magnificent late Victorian suite, dating to the 1890s, brings together a pair of diamond drop earrings and a matching brooch, all masterfully crafted in silver on 18 carat yellow gold.
The exquisite antique set is unified by its floral style collet settings, where scalloped silver rims hold each old cut diamond like delicate petals.
Full of grace and character, these beautifully articulated earrings feature 5 old mine cut diamonds in an elegant vertical design. A single diamond crowns each earring, flowing down to a graceful pair that creates a delicate horizontal bridge. Below, a slightly larger diamond leads to the final, most prominent stone at the base.
Finally, the earrings measure approximately 3.5cm in length, weigh 5.54 grams together and fasten with 18 carat yellow gold lever backs, designed for comfort, security, and a warm finishing touch.
The brooch carries the same setting style in a symmetrical navette design, centred on a larger old mine cut diamond, flanked by two slightly smaller stones and framed by a cluster of 17 smaller diamonds, all set in scalloped floral collets. Fitted with a secure pin closure, it measures approximately 4.5 × 2.8 cm and weighs 13.79 g.
The earrings have an estimated total diamond weight of 4.60ct, while the brooch totals approximately 3.20ct.
Both the earrings and the brooch have been tested and confirmed as silver on 18 carat gold.
