About the Item

With a total diamond weight of 17.28 carats, and accompanied by GIA reports, these classic Oscar Heyman Mid-Century diamond cluster earrings are mounted in platinum. Each earring is designed as a floral cluster of marquise, round and pear-cut diamonds, suspending a 3.00 or 3.25 carat pear-shape diamond, accompanied by GIA reports stating F/SI1 and G/VS2 color and clarity. Crisp and elegant, with fine stones clustered at subtly varied elevations to enhance visual interest and play of light, these beautifully-made Mid-Century earrings are a jewel box classic. Item #: ER-22228 Artist: Oscar Heyman Country: United States Circa: 1961 Materials: 8 pear-shape diamonds (approximate total weight 12.88 carats); 6 marquise-cut diamonds (approximate total weight 3.40 carats); 2 round diamonds (approximate total weight 1.00 carats); Platinum Documentation: Accompanied by GIA report no. 123616173 dated June 23, 2025 stating that the pear-shape carat diamond weighing 3.20 carats is F color, SI1 clarity, and GIA report no.2235616142, dated June 23, 2025, stating that the pear-shape carat diamond weighing 3.25 carats is G color, VS2 clarity. Also accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity dated June 10, 2025 from Oscar Heyman, specifying the diamond weights, noting the date of manufacture as December 26, 1961, and stating that the serial number is 111946. This Mid-Century earring type in the so-called 'Regal" style was touched off in the 1950s by the coronation of Elizabeth II in 1953. Harry Winston in particular achieved this effect through minimizing the presence of metal in the mounting, as well as "through an extravagant use of pear- and marquise-shaped diamonds", according to the Oscar Heyman monograph by Yvonne Markowitz and Elizabeth Hamilton. During this period, Heyman became the preferred manufacturer of jewelry in the "Regal" style for Winston, Cartier and Van Cleef Arpels in New York. See Oscar Heyman: The Jewelers' Jeweler, p. 64.

French Art Deco Lapis, Jadeite and Diamond Pendant Earrings
Located in New York, NY
Made circa 1925, these Art Deco platinum, lapis, and jadeite pendant earrings were created in Paris. Each elongated, articulated form is designed as a circular diamond top suspending a cascade of tapering old single-cut diamond links highlighted by a jadeite "bi" and a lapis drop, with millegrain accents and original screwback findings. Graceful and lightweight, these extra long, classic French Art Deco earrings are exquisitely made, comfortable, and imbued with colorful, sparkling movement. Item #: ER-21789 Country: France Circa: 1925 Dimensions: 3.00" length, 0.50" width. Materials: Lapis lazuli; Jadeite; 36 old single-cut diamonds (approximate total weight 0.86 carat); Platinum Gram Weight: 9.5 g. Signed: French assay marks for platinum, Victor Réard maker's mark on findings Macklowe Gallery Curator's Notes: These delicate and lively pendant earrings are rare survivals from the Art Deco period. They were among the most beloved styles of the 1920s, their markedly elongated forms complementing short hair styles and vertical flowing gowns with flexible trim. Very often, 1920s earrings were shortened later, falling victim to changing hairstyles and couture. On the original findings is the mark of a specialist Parisian workshop located in the Marais, Victor Réard. The workshop was founded in 1921 as the ultimate successor to Achille Leroy. Historically, the workshop had produced refined parts and materials- enamels, secret closures, special necklace clasps, stone mountings, and other findings, for important firms such as Maison Boivin.

Oscar Heyman Platinum Pave Diamond Star Earrings
By Oscar Heyman
Located in Venice, CA
These incredible Oscar Heyman earrings contain pave set diamonds of approximately two carats. The platinum eight-point stars are irregular shapes with longer and shorter points along the star, a non-symmetrical variation resembling a burst of light. The diamonds are impeccable—with intense white sparkle so bright the diamonds seem to radiate. The sophistication of the platinum and pave is balanced against the playful, organic shape of the stars; the result reminds us of an elegant cartoon dynamite explosion.  Oscar Heyman & Bros. Jewelry is considered to be “the jeweler’s jeweler,” producing pieces for Cartier, Van Clef & Arpels, and Tiffany & Co. The brothers apprenticed at their uncle’s Fabergé workshop...
