About the Item
Elegant pique long drop earrings inlaid with a gold and silver floral design on all 4 sides. Pique is tortoiseshell inlaid with gold and silver, a technique brought to England by the Huguenots when they were expelled from France in the 17th Century. This jewelry became very popular for its beauty and lightweight comfort. The pair pictured has a lovely floral design and measures 2 1/4” long by 1/2" at its widest and dates to c. 1880.
