About the Item
Colombian emeralds are arguably the gold standard the world over and have a special historical allure that dates back to the 16th century. There is a lot of myth around their origin, which makes them more desirable. They are said to have a warmer and more intense pure green color, free from blueish tinges. Emeralds are found additionally in Zambia, Brazil, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia, Madagascar, and Zimbabwe, with each locale known for different traits. Emerald is the green to bluish green variety of beryl, a mineral species that also includes aquamarine as well as beryls in other colors. The degree of green is derived from a presence and relative amounts of the trace elements, chromium, vanadium, and iron.
Extraordinary color is captured in these vibrant, verdant gemstones, framed by scintillating halos of brilliant diamonds. The dangling pear shapes are set in platinum each held with 5 delicate talon prongs and framed with a graceful halo of pavé diamonds. The settings for the pears expose so much of the emerald, allowing light to work its magic. A pear shape emerald is quite strong at showcasing size, color, and a little bit of sparkle too, as pear is a cut that makes light dance. In fact, the dangling pears are detachable to create two different looks. The rectangular emerald cut emeralds can be worn separately as button earrings, set in 18K yellow gold from the back, yet bezel-set in platinum and held with 4 talon prongs of the same material in the front. These glowing geometric stones are surrounded by octagonal halos comprised of larger round diamonds, framed with an octagonal beveled border in platinum. The earrings are designed for pierced ears, outfitted with posts and French clips.

The emeralds are certified by GRS lab stating that they are of Colombian origin with minor treatment. Surrounded by white pave round brilliant diamonds weighing approx. 1.70 carats total.
