About the Item
The look of diamond pavé dates back to the 1700s, while others argue the style dates back to ancient times. Most agree upon the term's French origins, in English translating to "pavement," which is indicative of the gemstone setting technique which paves the entire surface of the piece. The technique is revered by many since it showcases the fire of diamonds and/or translucent gemstones as the light captures the individual depth of each stone while showing as little metal as possible. These earrings are a great example of the skillful technique, with diamonds set in what may appear to be a haphazard configuration, but were instead carefully calibrated and planned out.
The earrings give homage to classic jewelry Maisons who have a simialr designs in their repertoires with its crescent outline and dimensional bombé shape, both of which heighten the diamond sparkle even further. What we love most, however, is how these gemstones are optimized when the earrings are worn. The crescent has been fabricated and formed with a slight twist, which creates a tier and playfully interacts with the planes of the earlobe.
