About the Item

Carved Amethyst, Diamond, Nephrite and Gold Earrings Brooch Vintage Set, circa 1960. Small white brilliant cut diamonds are prong set in the center of the carved amethyst flowers. There are 7 diamonds each weighing approximately .025 to .04 pts., totalling approximately .22 cts. These diamonds are white (H) and bright with little inclusions, (VS). The amethyst flowers are all cut well. The amethyst match in their bright purple color. Each amethyst is slightly different as they are all hand cut. The nephrite jade in the shape of the flower's leaves is also hand cut. Both the amethyst and the jade are also hand etched. The brooch is 2.75 inches in length. It is not marked, but it has been acid tested to confirm its gold content as being .585% or 14K. The earrings are marked 585. They are now for a non pierce ear lobe. They can be alter to accommodate a pierced ear. The earrings are 1.25 inches length. The set weighs 17.6 grams. The set was made in Europe, probably Austria. it is in excellent condition.
