About the Item
Los Castillo sterling silver hair clip and earring set. Traditional Mexican pattern, the earrings are screw-on earrings, design #325. Made from solid 925 sterling silver. Marked with 325 Los Castillo Taxco.
Antonio Castillo and his three brothers opened their silver shop "Los Castillo" in 1939 in Taxco, Mexico. He had been an apprentice to William Spratling. Many skilled silversmiths worked in his shop and it is know for its quality sterling silver as well as mixed metal wares. Antonio Castillo died in 2000.
CONDITION: Has expected surface scratches and wear. Has been lightly polished, but has some tarnish / soiling in deep grooves consistent with age.
