Founded by Viktor Moisekin, a highly devoted and well-known jeweler in Russia, luxury jewelry company Moiseikin has created unparalleled pieces for heads of state and royalty around the world, as well as medals for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. The company was started in 1993, and its team of artisans draws on centuries of Russian jewelry traditions from such firms as Fabergé and Bolin, while involving cutting-edge contemporary techniques. Taking over a year to make, the piece contains an enormous nautilus shell with 500,000 sapphires, 20,000 diamonds and one kilogram of gold. A hummingbird hovering over an orchid completes the sculpture, which also includes a manually wound clock housed within its base.
