A pair of late Victorian ruby and diamond earrings, each in the form of a flower, centrally-set with a round ruby, surrounded by five petals, each set with a pear-shaped ruby surrounded by old European-cut diamonds, the rubies estimated to weigh 4.2 carats in total, accompanied by GCS Report stating the rubies to be of Burmese origin with no indication of heating, the diamonds estimated to weigh 3.25 carats in total, all mounted in silver and 18ct yellow gold, circa 1890, with later gold clips and post fittings, measuring approximately 2.4cm, gross weight 13.4 grams.
This antique pair of earrings is in fine condition for its age.
A glittering and bright pair of earrings. These earrings date from the late Victorian period, and each earring is in the shape of five-petaled flower. The centre of each flower is set with a vivid pigeon’s blood red Burma ruby, and each petal is set with a further matching ruby. The rubies on the petal are surrounded by lively and glittering old-cut diamonds, which add lovely sparkle to these earrings. The stones are set to silver and yellow gold, which accentuate the bright rubies and diamonds. These earrings come from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III.
