About the Item
An exquisite pair of stud earrings with a 0.25 carat diamond bezel-set in each, with a halo of an additional 1.05 carats of diamonds, further surrounded by calibre cut sapphires. Crafted from precious platinum, these earrings honor the geometric Art Deco designs of the 1920’s. Colorful gemstones were favored by Art Deco designers to achieve contrast with diamonds and white metals to create their geometric designs with maximum visual impact.
The Art Deco period spanned from approximately 1915-1935 and derives its name from a 1925 Paris exposition celebrating the chic new geometric style emerging after the end of WWI. Freer style was celebrated and women who embraced the flapper lifestyle refused to return to societal constraints, instead choosing liberated style and self-expression with exuberant jewels and looser clothing. Glittering jewels were a joy following austerity measures during the First World War. These stud earrings are contemporary, but made faithfully in the Art Deco style.
Fully hallmarked for platinum with Dutch hallmarks, these earrings are fitted with secure butterfly backs and weigh 6.4 grams. Perfect for your "something blue" on your wedding day, to celebrate a September birthday or anniversary, or ideal as daily diamond earrings.
