About the Item
A pair of Victorian diamond, enamel, silver, and yellow gold earrings, each comprising one old mine cut diamond, twenty rose cut diamonds, and blue enamel, set in silver and yellow gold, with 9 karat yellow gold posts and backs.
These Victorian stud earrings centre around a large old mine cut diamond. The old mine cut diamonds are set to the centre of the earrings, held within claw settings. The old mine cut diamonds are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another, with good colour and clarity; really lovely diamonds. From the centre, alternating panels of rose cut diamonds and cobalt blue enamel, create a domed swirl design, reminiscent of Viennese whirl. The rose cut diamonds are held within silver settings, whilst the blue enamel is held within yellow gold settings. The earrings are complete with threaded post backs and secured with screw fitted backs. The earring backs are later additions to the earrings, and the earrings may have been converted from a set of Victorian dress studs or cufflinks, and a matching ring is available. The earrings are in great condition, with some small areas of wear to the enamel (but overall, the enamel is in good condition). Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
