About the Item
These perky dome-shaped earrings were the fronts of old-fashioned sleeve links -- the type that look like two buttons connected back to back. The back pieces look exactly the same, except they don't have diamonds. (We made those into earrings too.)
These were probably made in the 1920s or 1930s, although it's hard to say for sure since the connector, which bore the purity stamp, did not helpfully offer up a maker's mark.
Nicely detailed with enamel defining the aurora around each diamond and a border along each edge.
The diamonds are nice, bright full cuts, probably about 0.12 carats each. We rate them in the SI1-VS2 clarity range and G-H color range.
Butterfly backs in 14 karat yellow gold are included.
