About the Item
This crossed-axe earring design was originally created by designer Wendy Brandes for singer/songwriter Skylar Grey. Wendy gifted Skylar with a pair of earrings and a matching necklace. You can see Skylar wearing the necklace version in her Inked magazine cover; you can also clearly see Skylar's double-axe necklace tattoo, upon which the jewelry designs were based. The photo of Wendy and Skylar shows Wendy wearing the original sample design for the necklace. The earrings being sold now are the pair that Wendy kept for her archives. It's hard to part with them for sentimental reasons, but it's time for someone else to enjoy them!

About the Designer: Jewelry design is Wendy Brandes’s second career. Wendy started out as a business journalist at the Wall Street Journal and CNN, later switching to pop-culture coverage during her tenure as managing editor of People magazine’s website.
