An exceptionally rare surviving pair of original 1930s Penguin Fur Clips. Made by the renowned Company 'Coro' in the mid 1930s, this pair of Penguin fur clips are known as Mr Mrs Penguin. A celebrated book piece due to their endearing nature and rarity, it is wonderful to find the pair and in very good vintage condition. The Penguins are made in pot metal and are decorated with enamel, rhinestones and a central glass cabochon for the tummy. This type of stone is referred to as a 'Jelly Belly'. Each Penguin measures approx. 4cm long and 2.5cm wide and is signed with the Coro stamp in script - their early first mark. A wonderful piece for a vintage jewellery addict or to simply enjoy as a magnificent example of vintage costume jewellery bringing a timeless fashion statement and heirloom to your wardrobe.
