An antique pendant brooch, created in the United Kingdom between the periods of the kingdoms of George III (1760-1820) and George IV (1820-1830) circa 1830. This beautiful piece was carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 19 Karats (.791/.999). Our pendant is a locket for hair and it opens beautifully, has 2 differently embellished sides, and can be worn with either side showing as both sides are breathtaking. It has an integral gold twisted rope bail that allows it to hang balanced from a gold chain and is itself a thing of beauty. The emerald at the center of the petals represents faith. Every surface of our locket is decorated with leaves, flowers and ornamental gold balls using a technique known as cannetille, an elaborate form of gold-work during a very brief two decades of the early 19th century (1820-1840).
