About the Item
This impressive necklace has a wonderfully organic feel and features a stunning collection of unusually large wood opalite beads accented with large 18k yellow gold rondels. Wood opalite forms when a material such as silica from volcanic ash settles into the cavities of petrified wood and resolidifies as "common," or non-colorful opal. Called the "stone of patience" requiring millions of years to form, these polished wood opalite beads measure 20-22mm and have warm tan, brown and even near black body color with beautiful, variegated patterning. The 18k yellow gold rondels with their brushed texture have a rich and rustic feel, and the large 18k yellow gold clasp brings this eye-catching necklace to a finished length of 18 inches. A stunning look with "earthy elegance," this is a statement piece that is a beautiful daytime or evening piece. Truly timeless!
