About the Item

An exquisite and wonderfully rare French, Art Deco green glass sautoir dating to the 1920s. Featuring an impressive thirty six, hand made, emerald glass melon cut beads, in three sizes. Accompanied by delightful clear paste rondelles and a substantial array of large faceted crystal beads in diamond, drops, rounds and disc cuts. The beads are strung on a fancy link silver-tone chain indicating the quality of the piece furthermore. Very good overall condition with only small age appropriate knocks to the end drops of any note and these would be completely unnoticeable when worn, approx. 58cms long with a 10cm drop. Please note there is no fastener as the necklace was designed to slip over the head. Truly wonderful to find an original 1920s Flapper sautoir the way it was made nearly 100 years ago. The vibrant emerald green glass and scale of the necklace combining to make a stunning style statement.
