About the Item
A beautiful freshwater cultured pearl necklace featuring a round 14K gold clasp. The ornate clasp is set with twelve clear cultured pearls, finely surrounded by delicate filigree and rope motifs, and finished with a beautifully scalloped border.
The necklace is composed of lustrous drop-shaped pearls, each measuring approximately 0.6 millimeters in diameter. The longest strand measures 39.5 centimeters including the clasp, with some strands strung slightly looser than others, as commonly seen in hand-strung pieces of this type.
This jewel represents part of the rich Dutch cultural heritage, traditionally worn by women as part of the regional costume in certain areas of the Netherlands. The piece remains in good condition.
A small portion of brown filler material is visible on the reverse of the clasp, originally used to reinforce the thin gold structure and prevent denting. Part of this filler is missing but does not affect the stability, shape, or appearance when worn.
The clasp bears the Dutch Oak Leaf purity hallmark, stamped 14K.
