About the Item
An Art Deco natural coral 14 karat gold single-strand beaded necklace. The coral beads of this necklace are round-shaped and are beautifully mottled with different hues of red and pink. The round openwork and scalloped gold clasp is set with a single coral round cabochon stone. Between the round coral beads the thread is knotted, this ensures the beads do not rub against each other. The necklace is provided with a yellow gold safety chain.
Coral is considered a symbol of renewal, vitality and beauty. The coral contains pink hues and golden overtones that spring flowers bring to earth. This is a very delicate piece of jewelry that enhances femininity and elegance.
These types of jewels represent a varied and rich historical Dutch cultural heritage, worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands. In the 19th century, coral really came into fashion and was part of the traditional costume, the Dutch have been wearing coral jewelry since the 16th century.
The necklace is in very good condition and of high quality. The total length is 86 centimeters, the beads are approximately 4-5 millimeters and the necklace weighs 37.92 grams. Due to the artificial light, the coral may differ in color from the actual daylight. Hallmarks are present and visible on the closure.
