This iconic necklace is the definitive authentic Gump's black jade necklace. Gump's, in case you are not familiar with the name, was a legendary San Francisco emporium that became world-renowned for its Asian art and jewelry, especially its jade —both jadeite and nephrite— which were always untreated. I doubt Gump's would have served you as a customer if you showed up at one of their counters wearing dyed quartzite beads of "imperial jade" around your neck. They would have sent you to Chinatown; to the third store from the top of the street on the left where you could buy a dyed jade back scratcher for six dollars back in 1985, but I digress. This black jade necklace features a simple 14K yellow gold clasp set with a matching half-bead of black jade. It's truly unisex.
