About the Item
This is a dramatic and high style chinoiserie necklace. The piece features vintage Chinese cinnabar elements consisting of a large carved ball which centers the strand with a pair of delicately wrought sterling silver rondelles. Ten smaller exquisitely carved cinnabar ovoid beads. These ovoid beads alternate with highly detailed gilt sterling silver beads flanked by semi matte ebonized circular wooden beads.
These ovoid necklace closes with a glossy lacquered oversized wooden toggle connected by a decoratively woven macrame cord.
This is definitely very much a statement necklace. It can be worn with the large ball centered in the middle or asymmetrically with the ball on the side as shown in illustration. Can be worn on a variety of occasions, evening, casual or even resort wear.
