About the Item
This rich emerald green necklace possesses extravagance beauty. The slightly mottled beads are uniform in size and shape and possess a fine high polish.
These 103 gleaming natural and untreated fine "Fei Cui" jadeite beads are from Guatemala and create a 19" necklace of verdant natural beauty.
The beads measure an average of 3.7mm in diameter, so they are small. But they defy their modest size by simply bursting with a pure, true green possessed by only the finest jade.
An 18k Japanese-built clasp completes the piece.
If these beads were 8mm instead of 3mm, you'd be looking at a price tag of approximately $100,000. But to my eye, the visual impact is absolutely no less stunning. This highly specific shade of green -one without any taint of yellow- is exceedingly rare in the gem world and it is this color which makes jadeite jade among the rarest and most valuable gems on earth.
Though these do not ship with a lab certificate, I created this necklace using beads from a larger lot I acquired several years ago, and the beads tested as untreated, A-grade jade. I am a Certified Professional Gemologist and second-generation jade collector and all of the jade I sell is natural and untreated.
A rare, utterly breathtaking necklace that you will never, ever want to take off. The finest material from Guatemala now rivals that of Burma; a thrilling development for those of us who love "The Stone of Heaven."
