About the Item
A fine vintage jet and diamond-set bead necklace, consisting of twenty-one graduated from the centre fluted jet beads, measuring from 14 to 17mm in diameter, stung with twenty diamond-set white gold beads in between, all to a diamond-set ball clasp, the diamonds estimated to weigh 6.5cts in total, all pave-set in white gold, bearing French gold marks and indistinct makers mark, circa 1970, later hallmarked 18ct gold London, measuring approximately 44cm long, gross weight 65 grams.
A vintage jet and diamond-set necklace in very good condition.
This bold and striking necklace comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Featuring carved jet beads set alternatively with pave-diamond beads, this monochromatic necklace is sculptural and sophisticated. This necklace is a perfectly elegant statement piece.
