About the Item
We're pleased to offer you this scrumptious natural jade necklace featuring 37 beads graduating in size from 10.6mm to 13.8mm.
The translucency, "crushed ice" appearance, and light, subtle color all scream "natural jadeite," but in case there's any doubt, we are providing a GIA jade report certifying the beads are "fei cui" -- natural, Type A (i.e., untreated) jadeite. The report, based on a mid-strand bead, describes the color as "light purple."
In order to obtain the GIA report, we had to cut the original stringing, which was on very pale -- almost white --purple silk. When we had the beads restrung, we took the opportunity to change things up a little by going darker with the thread instead of lighter and chose a color that's recognizably purple.
The closure is a bowtie-shaped fluted barrel clasp in 14 karat gold with a nice internal safety hook. It's girded in the middle with a pave-set row of six bright, full-cut diamonds (we would rate them G-H color and VS1-2 clarity) for a total diamond weight of 0.30 to 0.35 carats.
The clasp is signed with a cursive monogram or initials that we frankly can't make out. Could be a fancy "H." Could be a conjoined "FC." Could be something else altogether. It's probably just the name of the clasp manufacturer so we're not getting too exercised about it.
This necklace is 20.5" long. Note that we can have the necklace restrung at a shorter length (and/or with the more traditional lighter thread) at no charge. We can also source a white gold or platinum clasps if that's your preference. Just let us know and we'll provide you with options and swap-out pricing.
