About the Item
An extraordinary expression of heritage craftsmanship, this handcrafted necklace features a strand of luminous, natural South Sea pearls, each uniquely inlaid three times with finely detailed bird motifs — a rare feat in jewellery design.
Executed in 24K yellow gold, the inlays are adorned with natural diamonds, natural rubies forming miniature artworks on each pearl. Each south sea is separated with natural emerald beads. The design evokes the timeless elegance of Mughal-inspired Indian jewellery, echoing techniques reminiscent of kundan and Meena craftsmanship, prized for their intricate detail and regal aura.
Each necklace takes nearly 2-3 months to complete as each bird is seated with pure 24K gold with the help of ancient kundan technique, in which soft 24K gold is pressurised together and used to set each stone separately. No piece is pasted, all the pieces are properly inlaid inside the pearls.
The bird motif — often associated with grace and transcendence — has been rendered with precision, transforming the necklace into a poetic fusion of traditional Indian artistry and contemporary luxury.
