About the Item
This gorgeous handmade necklace looks to be a strand of fine jadeite jade; the high translucency of the beads, the rich and varied coloring; all traits we associate with jadeite. But these beads are natural and untreated nephrite jade. Typically, we think of nephrite jade as being green, black or white (mutton fat). But nephrite jade, too, comes in a variety of colors. It's just that we don't often come across these colors in jewelry.
This slightly adjustable 26" necklace features 75 6mm highly translucent and nearly colorless nephrite jade beads, along with 16 9.5mm nephrite beads in vivid green, reddish-brown (orange), and a grayish-blue. A slip knot at the top allows you some wiggle room - approximately 4.25"- for a total necklace length of 30", making it to make it easy to slide over the head since there is no clasp.
Perfectly unisex, this necklace could be worn by anyone. It is brand-new and ships with a certificate from Stone Group Labs identifying it as untreated nephrite jade.
