This is a one of a kind long necklace by the designer Jane Magon and from the East Meets West Collection. These long necklaces are inspired by Eastern and Western relations as attracted to each other's cultures. Given an organic feel with the contrasting colors and textures. It has South Sea Pearls and Flat Baroque Fresh Water Pearls with high luster, Chrysoprase Chunks, Melon Cut Quartz, Melon Cut Jade, Uncut Quartz, Dried Jade 22mm Bead, Tourmaline Crystals, 6 (delicate) Apatite Faceted Beads, Opal beads, White Jade beads, Pierced Coins, and Flower White Jade Beads, 200-year-old Jade, Fluorite Cylinder, Pure Gold Bead, Gold Beads, One Jadeite Cylinder with 18kt Gold End caps and Tsvatite rds set in it, 4 Keshi Pearls, 9kt ruffle bead, with an 18 Karat Watch Fob Clasp. More about this piece: These long green jade necklaces (with black pearls or white) were conceived as an integration of Eastern and Western notions of aesthetics and politics within pieces of jewelry. Eastern (Burmese, Chinese, or Russian jade and white Australian South Sea pearls (or black or silver Tahitians) are attracted to Western-style; West is attracted to East. Here Western design, culture, and materials: such as Australian white South Sea Pearls, Australian chrysoprase, and opal are integrated with Burmese jadeite and jade cut in China. These gems are worked onto 18 KT gold wire. While there is a cultural element to the choice of stone, by hand-wiring it together it has given it an organic ‘feel’. Green tones (from light to dark green with white or black) are heightened with contrasting textures, sizes, and shapes. Australians are (on a daily basis) reminded one way or another of a co-existence (both friendly and strained) with various Asian cultures in the Asia-Pacific region. From a Pre-European perspective, Asians have visited Australia for a longer period than it has been thought. Ancient Chinese and Viking wrecked boats have been found off our northern coasts.
