One of a Kind Opera Length Necklace hand-fabricated by acclaimed jewelry maker Lilly Fitzgerald showcasing a 40 inch long strand of natural, exceptional-quality Chinese Freshwater pearls with primary blue, violet, and pink tones complemented by gorgeous orient and luster. Fourteen of the pearls feature intricately cast and granulated 22k yellow gold embellishments, while each of the 72 total pearls sits between 22k yellow gold bead spacers. This wearable masterpiece comes complete with a large, ornamental 22k gold hook clasp, handmade jump rings, and finished on a sturdy steel wire. About the Maker - Lilly Fitzgerald is a master goldsmith based in Spencer, Massachusetts. Though essentially self-taught, Fitzgerald studied fine art and painting at museum schools in Montreal and Worcester, MA. “At heart I’m a frustrated painter and sculptor,” says Fitzgerald. Her studio, a renovated 18k century barn, is filled with books and objects from her travels throughout Asia, Europe and the United States, inspiring her unique designs. The master craftswoman hand-fabricates all of her jewelry in 22k gold, focusing on highlighting the finest gems and minerals that she sources from around the world. She also often incorporates vintage materials and rare artifacts resurrected from prior lives to create an extraordinary amalgam of past and present. Described as luminous and elegant, Fitzgerald’s classically beautiful work crosses over from decorative to fine art, but always exhibits exceptional structural complexity and distinction. Having received numerous awards and honors from the American Craft Exposition, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Boston Society for Arts Crafts, among others, her work is now included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and private museum collections throughout the United States.
